Characters #1

I’m starting on the character dialogues now. Since the game will be in godot, I’m planning to use dialogic if I can get it to work properly. I might just have to make a dialogue system from scratch or see what else is out there for something simple since the game isn’t a visual novel but need a dialogue system. YouTube might have some tutorials I can follow and make on my own.

I’ve decided to start with 6 characters. Maybe if I like this game enough by the end of it, I’ll be willing to expand and make more.

Each character has a specific personality and you learn more about them each time they come in for a movie. That means, if I go with four interactions in total, that the game will have 24 different movie selections. I think that’s a pretty good number for such a short game.

Like I said earlier, I can always create more characters later if I like the game enough. There are currently an even amount of men and women coming in so it seems like a good stopping point for now.

I’ve also been trying to go for a more inclusive path even if the 80s and 90s themselves weren’t the most inclusive. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I like adding it to my games and this won’t be the exception.

I’m really liking the synopsis that I wrote for 4/6 characters and I’m excited to write the actual dialogue.
